Description

The Cable/Infrastructure technician requires excellent problem-solving and customer service
skills, as well as the ability to terminate, test and troubleshoot secure/non-secure voice, video,
data, and radio frequency cable infrastructure. Requires relevant training, as well as hands-on
experience working with cable infrastructure.


Typical Duties
• Installing new cable Fiber and Copper
• Terminating and testing new cable Fiber and Copper
• Testing and troubleshooting faulty cable
• Cross-Connecting circuits
• Reporting current status
• Maintaining space cleanliness
• Following all safety and quality standards, codes and industry best practices
• Reading and comprehending blueprints and building documentation
• Working at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces
• Lifting up to 60 pounds and using appropriate equipment to move heavier items
• Operating vehicles, hand tools, power tools, ladders and test equipment.

Requirements

Required Clearance: NATO Secret

Required Experience:

4 years of hands-on experience working with cable infrastructure

Required Certification: Employment is contingent upon obtaining all required certifications and maintaining required certifications through the duration of the contract. Failure to obtain/maintain required certifications will result in disqualification for this position and could result in termination.
• Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) Installer 2 (Copper)
• Fiber Splicing Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Certifications: DOD 8570 IAT Level II or higher

Essential Functions
Work Environment
• Work will be performed inside and outdoors and in inclement weather conditions. Work assignments vary based on client requirements. Position

Physical Requirements
• Climbing, working at heights and in small confined spaces. Must be able to stoop, kneel or crouch for long periods of time. Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperature than standard office environmental conditions. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
Equipment and Machines
• Operating vehicles, hand tools, power tools, ladders and test equipment.
• General office equipment, which includes: telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office equipment.

Attendance
• Working hours from 0800 – 1800 Monday – Saturday and 1300 – 1800 on Sunday with 24/7 on call status.

• Oversees travel is required. It is important to maintain a current passport.
